I think this was one of the best Spaghetti Westerns ever to come out of Italy. Although not at the level of operatic beauty and genius as 'Once Upon a Time in the West,' the opening is nevertheless one of the coolest in the genre, especially when considering what Valerii's film is trying to accomplish. For those unfamiliar with the movie, Nobody Terrence Hill does everything possible to make sure his hero of a gunfighter Henry Fonda goes out in a blaze of glory. There were times when it seemed a little grainey, and also the colors seemed somewhat dated. But I really like this film alot, so I went ahead and ordered it. He shoots all three cowboys so fast it seems as if from a single shot. Your sentiments echo mine, I'll get this too. His methods are quite different and should keep you in stitches more than once. I'll wait for some feedback on how the other versions of this compare as far as the print damage goes before I buy.
Have not seen My Name is Nobody since then but still remember how much I liked it. The cast's non-native English speakers a class that clearly includes Hill, born Mario Girotti are the most common sources of non-synchronicity, but even Fonda's words at times don't match his mouth movements. Is it a spaghetti-western spoof? It's entirely clear that the movie has not been subjected to the same meticulous treatment as Leone's older directorial efforts. If you buy it, chances are you'll still hope against hope that a legitimate, remastered version will come along someday. Leone a favor and gave a half-hearted attempt for a score that was forgettable.
