Finally this movie has left me with a somewhat bitter taste in my mouth, when it comes to friends and relationships. Although arguments could be made for more deserving directors of best of the year honors, Han's work in A Day definitely warranted the consideration and his winning of the Grand Bell for Best Director is one I can personally live with. It is an ultimate statement of the science fiction film, an awesome realization of the spatial future. The director has said that he tried to present his story in the most realistic way possible.
Then to top it all of, Hugo's crazy plan is one of the worst parts of a film that I have ever seen. Volcano High Comic books are more popular in Asia than in any other part of the world, and in Volcano High we get a movie that aspires to the look and feel of Asian comics.
