One thing I have noticed is that when the spout connector is connected and I'm trying to start the truck it only gets spark when I let go of the key. I did not use a remote starter button. One of the wire that go to the spout connector should be yellow with a dark green tracer. The spout connector will be taped to the wire harness that goes to the distributor module. If the resistance is ok, probe one small terminal and the coil wire terminal.

I'm assuming its not working because of the cut wire. With key off, there should be no voltage present at any terminals of the harness. I don't have a labscope laying around, so that is the extent of what I can do. Near the right hand strut tower. Also below is a picture of the spout connector itself. The truck runs and idles, but dies under a load once I start moving. Reinstall all convoluted tubing and tape ends of tubing to the tubing with flame retardant vinyl tape, or equivalent. Ignition Timing will be Incorrectly Advanced if Base Timing is Set while the Module is in Start Mode. I'm assuming its not working because of the cut wire. If stray wire is found, apply pressure on the wire with pliers to bend the wire down and wrap the splice with three 3 layers of flame retardant vinyl tape, or equivalent, to ensure the wire does not make contact with other wires or the foil wrap. I have been getting the occational miss, and I know the secondary side of the ignition is all good.
Reinstall the spout connector and you should be good to go. Set timing to specs of 10 degrees. Use an ohm meter and probe the resistance of the two small terminals, and you should find 0. Another member here very recently had to same issue, he replaced the distributor. I did the bare wire. Do not ground the jumper for more that a couple of seconds. Now the wire on the female end of my spout connector is cut, where is it suppose to go? Check and inspect the wires carefully for missing insulation especially any twisted up wires, and also check inside the wire looms for any damaged wires. But you'll know the puter seems to be working ok. Just pull on the plug and it should pull apart. I already did some ohms reading on my spout wires and everything seems to be ok ,,,,well i read 0 ohms so im thinking they are ok Im about to pull my hair out!!! Have an assistant try to crank the engine.
